BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. —National touring band Almost Monday will perform live on Papermill Island on June 9, kicking off one of the first major concerts of Island Takeover, a new summer events series launching in Central New York.
The show is part of Island Takeover, a season‑long lineup of concerts and events running from June through September on Papermill Island. Presented by Cumulus Media Syracuse, along with 95X and 93Q, the series brings live music, themed nights, and outdoor entertainment to the waterfront throughout the summer.
Almost Monday, known for their upbeat indie‑pop sound and energetic live performances, will take the outdoor stage as Island Takeover begins its inaugural season. Doors for the June 9 concert open at 6 p.m., with the show serving as an early anchor for the broader summer series.
Island Takeover is structured as an ongoing summer destination rather than a single festival weekend. In addition to national touring acts like Almost Monday, the schedule includes themed music nights, community events, food vendors, and family‑friendly programming. Additional national concerts are planned throughout the summer, including Joe P & The Crowe Boys with special guest Braison Cyrus later in June.
Located along the Seneca River, Papermill Island will host events nearly every week as part of the new series, positioning the venue as a regular stop for live entertainment in the Syracuse area.
Tickets, event details, and the full Island Takeover schedule are available online, with more announcements expected throughout the summer.
More information can be found at the Island Takeover event page.
