Hayley Williams brought an unexpected reunion to the Hollywood Bowl on Oct. 5, welcoming Zedd onstage during the encore for a performance of Stay the Night.
The appearance marked the first time the pair had performed their 2013 collaboration together in roughly 12 years. Instead of recreating the song’s original electronic production, they presented a stripped-down version built around piano and Williams’ vocals.
Stay the Night became one of Zedd’s major crossover hits after its release, while Williams was already widely known as the lead singer of Paramore. Their latest performance gave the song a quieter live arrangement while keeping its familiar melody at the center.
The reunion came during Williams’ current solo tour, which has included several nods to earlier moments in her career. Recent shows have also featured guest appearances and songs connected to past collaborations.
For longtime listeners, the Hollywood Bowl performance offered a rare chance to hear Williams and Zedd revisit one of their best-known songs together.
