III. RECRUITMENT INITIATIVES

Participated in Local Job Shadow Program

The General Manager maintains contact with the local counselors in Stockton and Greenfield School Districts to encourage students to visit the radio station for Job Shadowing program.  One student from Stockton took part in the program on Feb. 18, 2014 and was able to learn about the daily operation of our studio and what training is important to following a broadcast career.

Participated in VFW Voices of Democracy, November 4-8, 2013

Station personnel assisted students in recording prepared speeches for a National scholarship competition.  These five students got one-on-one experience in the studio with recording equipment and explanation of daily on-air operation of the station.  This helps promote interest for possible part time positions, while attending High School.

Visibility and Access to staff Sept. 25, 26, 27, 2014

The General Manager was available at a Booth at the Annual Stockton Black Walnut Festival for 5 hours each day of the festival to give information about the station and opportunities in broadcast jobs.  Members of the sales staff, and office were available for brief periods during the event as well.  We had 3 requests for applications and one resume was brought into the station during this time.
