The news of Chester Bennington’s death has come as a such a shock. What’s worse is that his death was a suicide, like his good friend Chris Cornell. Bennington also died on Cornell’s birthday. In light of this, it was only two months ago that Bennington performed a heartfelt rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” at Cornell’s funeral.

The next day, Bennington Tweeted this:

This emotional final interview with Bennington has been making the rounds on social media. In it, he talks about his ongoing struggle with depression and how he is seemingly at peace.

And in one of Linkin Park’s final performances this May, Bennington sings their new song “one More Light” and dedicates it to Chris Cornell during a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

RIP Chester… 🙁
