Over 700 artists had their master recordings destroyed in a massive fire at Universal Records‘ warehouse back in 2008. Blink 182, Jimmy Eat World and Semisonic are just a few of the names affected by the tragedy. Last week, a class action lawsuit was filed by a group of artists including Soundgarden and Hole, claiming it was UMG‘s negligence that lead to the destruction of the master recordings.
