Beastie Boys and Spike Jonze announce new documentary

Mike D and Ad-Rock have teamed up with director Spike Jonze on a new documentary on the band called Beastie Boys Story. It will debut April 3rd on IMAX and receive a global release April 24th on Apple TV +.

Jonze directed the movie and co-wrote with Mike D and Ad-Rock. The project came about due to the massive success of their Beastie Boys Book.

The band described the documentary as an intimate, personal story of their band and 40 years of friendship in a post on the bands Instagram page.

Jonze and the Beastie Boys will also release a photo book called Beastie Boys, on March 17th.
