[UPDATE] NASA & SpaceX Launch scrubbed; Rescheduled for Saturday

Weather has unfortunately put a stop to today’s historic rocket launch of the Dragon SpaceX mission to the International Space Station.

The mission has been rescheduled for this Saturday, May 30th at 3:22PM EST.

It has been nine long years since American astronauts launched into space from US soil. Today that all changes thanks to NASA and SpaceX!

At 4:33PM EST, the Crew Dragon capsule will blast off into space from historic pad 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. On board will be two American astronauts who will meet up with the International Space Station in the first test for humans of the new Dragon Crew Vehicle developed by Elon Musk’s company SpaceX.

The last time Americans have launched into space from US soil was aboard the final Space Shuttle launch of Atlantis in 2011.

Since then the shuttle was retired and astronauts used Russian Soyuz capsules to go into space.

Today’s launch coverage will begin at 12:15PM on NASA TV with the launch set to go on at 4:33PM.
