Lia and Gary met by chance at a diner in Chicago. Gary was attending the premier of a ballet he scored for a Chicago based dance company and the two started a conversation while eating breakfast. The two exchanged information and connected perfectly on a music direction level. Gary then spent several months writing the music for what would be the debut full length “Paris is Burning” by their group they named “Coral Blue”. Lia recorded her vocals in Chicago and sent them back to New York where Gary and an engineer mixed the record. The hand painted album cover was created by Brendon Flynn. The video for “Break in the Clouds” was created by Death Scythe Media and the video for “Almost” was created by Michaela Byers. A video for our ethereal ballad “Dreaming in Static” will be completed in the next few weeks.

Influences musically range from M83, Daft Punk, Phantagram and Portishead. Vocal sound have been compared to a mix of Lana Del Rey and Billie Eilish. Lyrically, Lia channels her struggles with substance abuse, relationships and self image, which Lia sings in both English and French.
