The anticipation for any bit of information on the next Red Hot Chili Peppers record has been maddening at times for fans of the band but this week, little-by-little, details emerged. We got the snippet

‘Love Unlimited’ is set for an April 1st, 2022 release date. The album will be the first since 2006 featuring guitarist John Frusciante and is to be produced by the legendary Rick Rubin, a long-time collaborator with the group. It will clock in at around 73 minutes and contain these 17 tracks:

“Black Summer” is the track they have been teasing and it’s the first official single that will be released on Friday, February 4th in full.
“Look, John hasn’t been in our group in 10 years. That’s a long time. So of course it’s going to sound different, but it’s going to sound like the four of us because we do have this special chemistry together. It sounds like RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, but it’s different and new, and to me that’s great.”
